In this article we will explore the different techniques used by lash technicians to create so many different lash looks from subtle and realistic to daringly dramatic.
All of these looks are fusion lashes. Find out how these different effects are achieved below.
Fusion Techniques
The technique selected will determine the fullness and some other design elements of your lash look. Regardless of the Fusion technique selected – the length, curl and shape of the set will always be customizable.
You’ve probably heard the below terms used to describe these applications or techniques without knowing their definition. The three (3) types of Fusion Lash techniques are:
- The Classic Technique,
- Volume Techniques, including
- Light Volume
- Megavolume
- Wetlash/Speedy Volume and
- Mixed Applications (also known as hybrid techniques).
Regardless of the Fusion technique selected, the Length, Curl, Shape of the set is always customizable.
Classic Application
In the Classic technique, one (1) single extension is applied to each natural lash. These classic extensions are of a thicker grade – ranging from 0.15 mm to 0.20 mm in weight or lash diameter – which add body to individual strands of lash hairs. Since they are thicker, the length of the extensions selected must complement the strength of the natural lashes, to prevent overloading.
Whether your set is short, medium or long in length, the results will always be a natural, extended effect… think magic mascara! Choose a classic look when you would like minimalistic, realistic or subtle, your-lashes-but-better looks. With full coverage application, a long set of classics can actually be quite dramatic though. We always have full control of the results.
Recommendations
This set is perfect for all women with full and healthy lash lines and medium to thick strands. These are the perfect lashes for modest or corporate women.
Sparse lash lines, fine and damaged lashes may not provide the desired results so we do not recommend the classic technique in these circumstance. Instead, select a Hybrid or Volume technique to add density to the lash line.
Classic Sets
Using standard mink extensions, this set is our classic-Classic look.
Available in Short to Medium (8 to 15 mm) and Long lengths (16 to 20 mm)
The Flat lash set uses ellipse shaped/flattened lashes, providing the same or fuller coverage with less weight than standard mink lashes.
Available in Short to Medium Lengths (8 to 14 mm)
Volume Application
The lash industry has expanded and evolved. Advancements in extension manufacturing introduced to the market even finer and softer fibers than where previously available to lash technicians. Newer techniques were developed to allow multiples of these fine extensions to be applied to each natural lash with the resulting weight usually LESS than one classic lash! These techniques requires more skill, more precise tools and longer appointment times, but we think its worth it!
Volume lash techniques are any techniques used to attach multiple lash extension less than 0.15 mm in diametre to the natural lash. Depending on the thinness of the extensions used, anywhere from 2 to 20 or more extensions may be applied to each strand. Volume or Light Volume uses 2 – 7 thin strands while Megavolume uses 8 – 20 ultra thin strands.
Light Volume techniques produce a full coverage effect with darker lash lines than classic extensions. Megavolume techniques produce a even darker, more dense and more fluffy effects because of the softness of these ultra-fine extensions 0.05 – 0.03mm in diametre!
Recommendations
The light volume technique is recommended for sparse lash lines if you desire a Classic look. It is also recommended for dense lash line which desire a full light volume look. This is also a great option for professional women.
The megavolume technique is recommended for all ladies who love a full glam effect or for special events. In short lengths, it is the perfect deluxe look for career women.
Light Volume Sets
The Doublestack set uses 2-3 light volume lashes per natural lash, using 0.10 mm lashes. Available in Short to Medium lengths (8 to 15 mm) and Long lengths (16 to 20 mm).
Megavolume Sets
The Flirt set is made up for ultra fine extensions in short to medium lengths only. Available in 8 to 16 mm lengths.
The Bigblinks set is made up of ultra fine and extra long extensions from 17 to 25 mm in length!
Mixed Application
What happens when you mix the original Classics lashes with modern Volumes? The best of both worlds! This technique is the combination of the two effects, where some lashes are fused to volume fans and all other lashes are fused to classic lashes. A specific pattern of lengths and curls can also be incorporated in this technique to produce wispy/textured details.
Recommendations
The Hybrid set is great for anyone! There’s a reason why we say “When in Doubt, Choose Hybrids…”. If your love light wispy details, or just need a bit more volume than a Classic look, Hybrids may be right for you.
The Hybrid set mixes classic and volume extensions to create fuller lash effects and other designs. Available in Short to Medium lengths (8 to 15 mm) and Long lengths (16 to 20 mm). The Make it Fluffy Add-On produces the Fluffy Hybrid look which uses a higher percentage of volume lashes for an even fuller look.
